Kick-off Meeting
SUMMARY OF THE MEETING
From January 13 to 17, 2025, the consortium of the KA2 project “Inclusive Sexuality: A World of Possibilities” convened in Antalya, Turkey, for a transnational meeting. This in-person gathering focused on coordinating the development of educational materials in collaboration with the Asociación Malagueña Síndrome de Asperger y TEA – A.M.S.A, Gençlik Fırsatları Derneği, and other project partners.
The agenda centered on reviewing the research conducted by each participating country, along with a comparative report prepared by the Turkish partner. This report served as the foundation for the next phase of the project—the development of key concepts to be included in the educational guide. It was agreed that in designing activities for the next stage, all partners would integrate the core principles outlined in UNESCO’s 2018 guidelines, “International Technical Guidance on Sexuality Education: An Evidence-Based Approach.” The meeting facilitated productive collaboration, with active contributions from each delegation, enabling progress in task distribution, the establishment of new deadlines, and the exchange of valuable resources for material development.
A significant highlight of the meeting was a study visit to the White Cane Association for the Visually Impaired (Beyaz Baston Görme Engelliler Derneği), which provided the consortium with crucial insights into the real needs of individuals with disabilities. These learnings will be reflected in the design of the project’s educational materials.
The consortium acknowledges the valuable contributions of all partners, the guidance and leadership of the Spanish coordinating entity, and the hospitality of the Turkish host organization. This meeting was a key milestone, not only in advancing the project’s development but also in strengthening transnational cooperation, with the shared goal of fostering more inclusive practices in sexual and affective health education.
